algorithmic cold calling

my new course on outbound cold calling is out. when i got started in tech a founder that had made some serious money told me “you can always outsource the engineering, however you can’t outsource revenue. i’d really focus on learning to sell as it is the only thing that matters in the end.”

he has been proven right.. whilst i did eventually become an engineer, i also became a salesman & it has been my primary w2 income source.

selling has allowed me to date women out of my league, land jobs i shouldn’t, make more money than i knew what to do with & continue growing as a person. and it all starts with learning to cold call.

cold calling is arguably the most brutal part of selling. a simple thought exercise that demonstrates this is as follows: what do closers want? warm leads to close. definitely not cold leads or a list of cold leads to try & convert.

closing is 100% a harder job than cold calling is by all definitions. it’s one thing to get someones time, it’s another thing to get their dollars.

however, in the day to day of running a business, being a bdr or an account executive, cold calling is 100% harder. it is the one action everyone avoids.

i have seen and believe that outbound sales is an algorithm. you can literally predict how you will do MoM/YoY (generally speaking) if you stick to doing a volume of activity.

so i’ve tried to condense all of my experience with over 150,000 cold calls & put it into a short ( < 2 hours) course. more specifically, i wanted the potential cold caller to always be ready for an edge case like a well thought out algorithm. i’ve helped take out all the guesswork, surprises, and objections that you receive when outbound calling so you are always ready to respond, like an algorithm.

why should you learn to cold call? it is the fastest way to revenue through cold channels & the cheapest. all you need is a phone, some scrappiness, and hustle. this is the fastest way to working for yourself, or making some serious money working for someone else.

maybe you’re a startup founder with a product built but no revenue. or you just got a job as an sdr or account executive and you have to pick up the phone but don’t know how. or you want to try and see if there is interest in a product/service (one of my favorite uses of cold outbound).

cold calling is the quickest avenue to data gathering for a new business or for someone learning an existing business since you talk with prospects & hear what they have to say in the moment.

my first month of selling web design, I made over $7,000 when i didn’t know how to make a website! i did however know how to cold call.

cold calling is the god skill. it is the one skill that “creates magic” out of thin air. selling is the skill like no other where you are god like with creation (revenue, aka life).
